With the first full week of school now under our belt, we’ve started to bed down routine, activities and lunches. Thanks to SMASH we’ve had the opportunity to try a range of lunch boxes and bags, water bottles and yogurt and snack containers and work out what we like. Continue reading

Part 2: Officeworks back to school lunch boxes and accessories review
Not only can you get all your back to school stationery at Officeworks but you can also purchase some fabulous SMASH lunch boxes and matching lunch bags. And I have to say I’m surprised at the range of designs and styles on offer. Continue reading
Nerf – not just blasters!
It’s quite stereotypical to associate blasters, water guns and cars with boys. My boys received a NERF blaster and water gun each for Christmas last year and they love them. And I’m not meaning to be stereotypical but my boys also like cars and anything that blasts off. So… Continue reading
Just a little bit hay wire…
Has this happened to you?
I feel the last few months have been non-stop and I’m constantly playing catch up or constantly on the go. A combination of life, family, work and generally the world revolving has made for a really busy time. Continue reading
Looking after the one that matters…
I love a party and any excuse to set up an event. For the last few weeks we (ok, let’s be honest – I) have been planning our son’s 4 year old party. Yet I hadn’t been as motivated or organised as previous parties and that was partly due to sickness in our household and life being busy (work, school, day care, and everything else that comes with a household of four). What do mum’s really want for Mother’s Day?
When I was younger I remember my mum asking me and my siblings for a day of peace. I didn’t quite get the concept but I so get it now! I also remember buying statues and figurines for her – something I don’t like and I don’t have. The amount of cleaning and dusting you have to do with those things. The mind boggles.

Why do we feel that we have to be everything?
I don’t know the answer to that question but it hit me yesterday out of nowhere. I woke up and felt tired all of a sudden. It lasted all day and into the evening and still I went to bed later than normal (why do we do that??). Husband has been overseas for work so I’ve been juggling the kids, two drop offs and pick ups to vacation care and day care, all the while continuing my corporate job which I enjoy, wanting to write and be busy, and sorting out our calendar for the next few weeks in order to have a social life and catch up with friends that we haven’t seen for a while. Basically trying to manage our general life. Continue reading
Kid’s development and tantrums – don’t you love that those two go together?!
Isn’t it funny how just one moment can get you thinking? Recently I was rushing out the door with our 5 year old and as I was getting him into the car he asked for something, and I said no. I was waiting for all hell to break loose. Instead he said ‘Okay’ and got in the car. Continue reading
So, did you survive term 1 of school?
One more day. One more day until the end of term 1. Seriously, 10 weeks gone in a blink! Sort of. Continue reading
