Family immunity

Six weeks of summer school holidays done. School preparation done. Routine is just around the corner and so is normal bedtime! I love to feel organised so I made sure school uniforms were washed and ready to go before the holiday break. New shoes and trainers were needed as were new stationery items – they mysteriously disappeared! Another thing I’m organising is our medicine cabinet. I try to go through it twice a year to ensure everything is within date and replenish any items that have finished or expired. Continue reading

Healthy after school snacks the kids will love!

For those of us in the southern hemisphere we are well into term 3 of school, and for those in the northern hemisphere it’s time to start a new school year. Recently the boys have been coming home from school ravenous. Knowing dinner isn’t far away I’m reluctant to give them snacks that are too filling but there’s no way they will last until dinner hour without something. Stress-free cooking at its best

Whether you’re a stay at home parent or a parent who works, dinner time can be one of the most stressful moments of the day. My husband and I both work (I work four days a week), we have two kids at school and I manage our school canteen. Add into the mix after school and weekend activities, trying to keep our (and the kids) social life going and the never-ending list of things ‘to do’, there are days I just want to walk in the door and know dinner will be whipped up in no time.
