FATHERS AND THEIR TOOLS

I’m sure I’m not the only one who dreads the gift hunting for Father’s Day. It can be difficult to find something meaningful, a gift that he will love, when he either doesn’t want anything or has everything he needs (apart from that sports car which is not going to happen anytime soon).

My husband is one of the above mentioned. He doesn’t want anything in particular, rotates his one wardrobe of clothes very successfully, knows way too much about wine for me to even dare buy him a bottle, and he receives his annual pack of new undies each Christmas.

He’s not a lover of DIY though he will put together an IKEA wardrobe because he has to. He’s not a major fixer upper person but will still screw in a light bulb. He does, however, like to be out in the garden. And by that I mean give him the big power garden tools and he’ll trim the hedges, cut the grass, whipper snipper the edges of the garden, and charge those twin batteries up in no time.

Trying to find a gift that fits into that category became easier when RYOBI released the Gift Guide on their website this month. The gift selector helps find the perfect gift by asking who the gift is for, their interest and your budget. And with over 70 tools in the 18V ONE+ range, which are exclusive to Bunnings ANZ, there’s sure to be something we can find for Dad/hubby to satisfy his power tool urge.

We already have some RYOBI cordless tools ready for action in our garage and even I find them great to use. Okay, I may have only used our RYOBI hedge trimmer but boy did it feel good giving that cordless power tool a go!

Knowing how great the tools are and with a 6-year replacement warranty on cordless products*, I’ll use the Gift Guide to help the kids choose a gift for Dad. There are a few tools that would be a great addition to our range and help do the job quicker – the 18V ONE+ Chainsaw 2.5Ah kit and the 4.0Ah Brushless Chainsaw are just a couple that stand out. Now I just need to convince the kids that this is what Dad would love!

If your husband or dad has enough tools, there’s always the option to gift more batteries which are compatible with over 70 tools in the ONE+ range #weloveourtwinpack

*Six-year warrant applies to cordless products registered at www.ryobi.com.au. Batteries and chargers have a three-year warranty and corded tools have a four-year warranty.
